The Migrant Children’s Project is looking to recruit Youth Rights Trainers to co-deliver our existing training courses and to develop new training courses.
Youth Rights Trainers will be individuals who want to make a difference and who bring the expertise of life experience (in particular, experience of the UK immigration / asylum system OR experience of being in care).
Youth Rights Trainers are employed by CCLC as sessional workers, and work up to a few days per month designing and co-delivering training on the law in the UK to professionals who work with migrant and refugee children and young people. We are also looking for also looking for care experienced young people to deliver training with Coram Voice.

What is involved?
To become a Youth Rights Trainer, you must first attend one event and one training session. Attendance at this event and the training course will not be paid but lunch will be provided and travel expenses will be covered. Once you have become a Youth Rights Trainer you will be paid to deliver training as a sessional worker, at the London Living Wage (currently £10.20 per hour). Three-day ‘Train the trainer’ course at Coram, 10am to 4pm on 27, 28 and 29 March 2018
The ‘Train the trainer’ course will develop your skills as a trainer, including communication and presentation skills, group and team work. You will also develop your legal knowledge of children and young people’s rights, focusing on immigration, asylum and nationality law. During the course you will practice designing and delivering a training session in front of an audience.
