Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC) has been shortlisted for a prestigious Law Society Award, the highest accolade for law firms and organisations in England and Wales.
CCLC has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Access to Justice category, recognising legal teams that go above and beyond to provide fair and equal access to those most at risk of being excluded from our legal system.
Rosalyn Akar Grams, Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights at CCLC said:
For the past 40 years, CCLC has worked to promote access to justice for children and young people and to protect their rights in line with the UNCRC through legal aid representation, strategic litigation, outreach advice and innovative pro bono models to reach those excluded from legal aid.
In what has been an extremely challenging period for all, during which children’s lives have been disrupted in unprecedented ways, the CCLC team have worked tirelessly and adapted swiftly so that we can continue to deliver our vital services. We are delighted to have been shortlisted in this category recognising this brilliant work of the team.

Solicitors play a vital role in times of crisis as people turn to trusted professionals, to explain the law, advise them on their rights and their obligations, and give them some sense of certainty.
As the country emerges from the pandemic, solicitors will be there every step of the way to help people and businesses get back on their and ensure access to justice and the rule of law.
Winners will be announced in an online ceremony on 7 October.
