New Welsh guide for social workers working with children and families with immigration issues

Coram Children’s Legal Centre and UNISON guide for social workers working with children and families in the asylum and immigration systems

UNISON, the public service union, have published a guide for their social workers, written by Coram Children’s Legal Centre. This guide is intended to provide information for social workers and other professionals in Wales working with children and families with immigration issues. The guide provides an overview of some of the main issues social workers will come across, including how the care and immigration systems interact, the asylum process, immigration and nationality, the age assessment process, and trafficking and modern slavery.

We have previously written a separate guide for social workers and other professionals working in England.
